Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 October 2026
These terms cover the Bowser app for Android and iOS, Bowser tap displays, and this website (together, "Bowser"). Bowser is provided by Ratted Pty Ltd, an Australian company ("Ratted", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Bowser you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Bowser.
1. Who can use Bowser
Bowser is about beer. You must be of legal drinking age where you live (18 or older in Australia) to use it. You're responsible for brewing, serving and drinking lawfully and responsibly.
2. What Bowser does
Bowser lets homebrewers manage their taps and kegs, pair tap displays, track pours and keg levels, and create artwork for what's on tap. Some features connect to services you choose to link, such as Brewfather and RAPT.
Keg levels, pour volumes and sensor readings are estimates. They depend on calibration, your hardware and your network, and they can be wrong. Don't rely on Bowser for anything where an exact measurement matters.
3. Your account
You need an account to use the app. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you think someone else has access. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, which permanently deletes your data and unpairs your tap displays.
4. Your content
You own what you put into Bowser: your beer names, keg details, prompts and uploaded designs. You give us permission to store and process that content so we can run Bowser for you, including showing it on your tap displays.
Don't add content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights (including trade marks and artwork you don't have the right to use), or that is abusive or obscene. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. AI-generated designs
Premium includes artwork generated by an AI model from your keg's details and your prompt. Generated designs are yours to use on your own taps and to share. AI output can be inaccurate, can resemble other artwork, and isn't guaranteed to be unique or free of third-party rights. Check a design before using it anywhere beyond your own bar. A monthly fair-use limit applies to generation and is shown in the app.
6. Bowser Premium
Bowser is free to use with limits. Bowser Premium unlocks more taps, AI-generated designs and sensor integrations, and is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a 14-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it becomes a paid subscription and your store account is charged.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Your store account is charged within 24 hours before each renewal.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in your Google Play or App Store subscription settings. Premium stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting your Bowser account doesn't cancel a subscription; cancel it in the store first.
- Refunds. Payments are handled by Google and Apple, and refunds are handled under their policies. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- Price changes. If a subscription price changes, the store will tell you beforehand and you can cancel before the new price applies.
7. Tap displays
Tap displays connect to your Wi-Fi and to our service to show your tap details and detect pours. They may receive software updates automatically. Hardware you buy from us comes with the terms and warranty given at the time of purchase, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Third-party services
If you link Brewfather, RAPT or another service, you authorise Bowser to use the credentials you provide to fetch your data from that service. Those services have their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them or for changes they make that affect Bowser.
9. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Bowser. That includes trying to access other people's accounts or data, interfering with the service, reverse engineering it except where the law allows, automating requests in a way that burdens it, or reselling it.
10. Our rights
Bowser, including its software, branding and the Ratted name and artwork, belongs to Ratted Pty Ltd. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for as long as you follow these terms.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep Bowser running, but we don't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we discontinue a paid feature you've already paid for, we'll give reasonable notice.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded. Subject to that, Bowser is provided "as is", and to the extent the law allows we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost beer, or loss of data. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the service or refunding what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
13. Ending these terms
You can stop using Bowser and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.
14. Apple App Store
If you got the app from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and Ratted, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support, and isn't responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You confirm you aren't in a country subject to a US Government embargo and aren't on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Bowser after a change means you accept the new terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and of the state in which Ratted Pty Ltd has its registered office, and the courts there have jurisdiction.
